I think about Peanuts and Beans quite a bit. Not to eat, but to install in kitchens. Nicknamed for its odd Peanut or Bean-like shape, the LeMans corner unit by Kessebohmer is the perfect solution for those blind corner situations. In the past two weeks I have suggested this unit to two different clients.
The first time I saw the Peanut in person, the only word I had to describe it was; BUTTER! The glides are so smooth and fluid, all motions are gentile and effortless. We first installed this in a Sacramento kitchen a few years ago when it first came out, and the clients are still very pleased with it!
I prefer this over other blind corner systems for several reasons. First, the non-skid shelves create a quiet cabinet environment (some other units are all metal making things clink around). Second, there is only one pull-out motion required, versus the two for a metal corner unit, and the Peanut pulls all the way out. Third, the curved shape make it less awkward to store round pots and pans or jarred food items. And forth, it is much less expensive.
The Peanut is available in White or Maple finished shelf, and comes in 15, 18, or 21″ tray.
